Something special at Tech·Ed IT Pro 2008: Quest Notes Migration Center

This year, in addition to the usual Quest Software sponsor booth, we are going to have an additional 10x10 booth dedicated to customers and partners who want to transition from the Lotus Notes platform to the Microsoft collaboration platform.

Our idea is to do something different than the usual glitzy marketing booth.  If you want t-shirts, big prizes and theater presentations, definitely go visit the Quest Software sponsor area.  If you want a low-key booth where you can see in-depth integration and migration demos, talk to developers and experienced migration specialists, and get help with your pressing technical challenges, then come by the "Quest Notes Migration Center" at booth # 1446 in the SharePoint Partner Zone.

We will certainly be showing products there.  (Hey, I'm a product manager.  And I am itching to show some demos of Notes Migrator for SharePoint 5.0, which we will be announcing at the show.)  But we hope to have conversations that go well beyond our current tool set.  And we will definitely be demonstrating technical solutions in areas that our products don't cover.

Here is the official conference guide description:

Quest Notes Migration Center - Booth  # 1446

Are you making the transition from Lotus Notes to the Microsoft platform?  Quest Software has a special booth dedicated to customers and partners looking for solutions to their toughest Notes migration and integration challenges.  Whether your goal is to analyze your global Notes environment, migrate complex applications to SharePoint, convert large volumes of Notes mail files and QuickPlace sites, or ensure a smooth coexistence period, we think you will enjoy seeing our tools in action.

And, once again, here is my Birds of a Feather session, which again will not be Quest-specific at all:

BOF908:  Migrating complex Lotus Notes applications to SharePoint.  Wednesday, 6/11/2008 12:00PM - 12:45PM

Organizations like yours that use Lotus Notes, QuickPlace, or Domino.Doc as their workflow tool, collaborative application, and document management platform are moving to SharePoint 2007 for this functionality. Moving your applications from Notes to the SharePoint platform can be done more quickly and cost effectively that you think. In this BOF we will discuss how you can reliably transition your Notes applications to the SharePoint platform. We explore best practices for recomposing your Notes applications in SharePoint in ways that leverage the power of the SharePoint platform. We will dig into how common Notes constructs might be rebuilt on SharePoint, including complex forms, views, workflow logic and more. We also will cover automated migration of standard Notes application content and advanced migration of complex custom Notes applications using state of the art tools.
