I use the word "provision" a lot when describing Notes Migrator for SharePoint. Every once in awhile, people ask me what I mean by that exactly, so I thought I had better clarify...
In the context of our tool, "provision" means to create new instances of things on SharePoint servers. So in addition to adding content to existing sites, Notes Migrator for SharePoint can create new instances of SharePoint sites based the site template of your choice (including custom templates). Anywhere you can view or select a target site in the product, you can also specify a new site.
In the above screen shot, notice the green and white "plus" signs, which indicate planned sites not yet created.
Optionally, you can provision the appropriate members (users and groups) and permissions based on what was in your Notes access control list (ACL). You can even generate SharePoint Groups that mirror the Roles in your Notes ACL.
Similarly, you can provision individual lists and libraries on new or existing sites. Again, this might use your custom list templates and may include permission mapping.
You can queue up multiple jobs for one Notes database that provision multiple lists and libraries on SharePoint. For example, a Lotus "Team Room" might map to several lists in one SharePoint site.
When you are good to go, you can do the provisioning and bulk migration in one operation.
You can automate a lot of the above using Notes Migrator for SharePoint's rules-based engine. For example, you can scan a tree of QuickPlace rooms and sub-rooms and generate an equivalent tree of SharePoint sites and sub-sites, including the appropriate security mapping and migration jobs.
