SharePoint Online, part of Microsoft's Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), is important to the future of SharePoint and is important to a number of my large customers. Even though I have not blogged about it yet, BPOS has actually consumed a good bit of my life over that past quarter. SharePoint Online is a very compelling platform, particularly for customers moving off of Notes, and I am enjoying working with the Microsoft teams involved immensely.
Quest has a new web page which recaps our BPOS activities across multiple products: www.quest.com/bpos. This site includes data sheets, white papers, and demos and will be updated frequently.
For my product, I can give you the short version right here: Notes Migrator for SharePoint works very well for migration of Lotus Notes applications to SharePoint Online Dedicated (the version for big customers) today. We are still working out the best approach for SharePoint Online Standard (the version for smaller customers) due to limitations in that platform's connectivity options. In both cases, there is a lot to say about how the platforms work and best practices for migration, so you can expect to hear more from me on that topic in the coming months.
